More About Me

I am by no means a native to Texas, I moved about quite often with my parents because we were a Military family. I've lived on the west coast, east coast and mid-west - overlapping several states in doing so... but never visited Texas, the north east, or the upper north west for that matter. It's been a new experience for me to put down roots and stay put here in Texas.

I live in the big state of Texas with my husband and two children. It's been a first for me living on a holistic, organic farm here on Sparkle Prairie Creek - and I love it! We raise Hair Sheep - crosses of Florida Native, Barbados and Saint Croix - and we love them so much. No sheering, no hoof trimming etc. and they are thriving here on the farm.

How I Got Started

I have always had a love for crafts and working with my hands. I quilt, paint, knit among other things. I taught myself the knitting basics at age 16 using my Grandma Molly's antique knitting book, but life got in the way and I didn't "pick up stitches" again until I was in my late 20s ... and since then I have grown in my abilities. Looking back I've always had an interest in yarn-work,... from a very young age I remember wanting to try yarn-work whenever I saw ladies knitting - whether it was my elderly relatives or in a movie - I had a burning desire to do it.

I lost my Grandma too early in my life so I didn't know her too well, yarn-work makes me feel close to her. Learning how to knit and work with my hands has given me something to do when I have been too sick to do anything outside, and gave me an occupation during the time I was single.

I was home-schooled for the majority of my education. During which time I spent many years competing in the Mid-South Fair in baking, sewing, crafts and artwork. I have several 1st and 2nd place ribbons and 1 Best of Show! Apart from "History" and "Audio Drama", arts and crafts have been my most favorite things.

The Texas Boys

I met Texas Mom and her family back in 2016, a few months before her little girl was born. I was new to Texas only having been here a year and a half, and I understand they hadn't been here in Texas long either at the time. I am so grateful for their love and support both personally and with this shop! We both live on a farm, both home-educate and love living in the country. We raise Hair Sheep, while they raise cattle and fowls. We are on the same footing on nearly every subject and we enjoy being homemakers!

My Website

It's hosted by my husband's web hosting business and programmed/designed by ME!!! It was an amazing adventure brushing up on my coding skills... and voilĂ ! My shop website is up and running. I had forgotten how much I LOVE website coding!
